DEAD DURAMAX

Recommended Posts

I'm saddened to announce the passing of by beloved Duramax. At only 9500 miles the cam gear decided to do a little dance and mess with perfection. Maybe the early warning signal at 7500 miles when the crank & cam sensors went out should have given us cause for further investigation. Presently, viewing is at the local Chevy dealership. Maybe we should have opted for the closed casket as it is almost to much to bear looking at the dearly departed with the whole top end torn off. Being laid out for better than 30 days of the last 60 is much too long of a viewing time. The poor thing is starting to gather dust.

Chevy says they will fix it up good as new, I'm not so sure that it will ever be the same as when I first fell in love.

Memorial email can be sent to Chevy asking how this tragedy could be avoided in the future.

If anyone is interested in photos let me know!

Chevy says they won't replace the motor but will rebuild my beauty. Heres a look at the inside of a duramax.

@ 9500 miles!   :)

30 days in the shop!

Get them to buy it back!  Look into you state's lemon laws..

See GM Ttuck Lemon Center

It will never be the same.  :D

You paid 40k for a new truck, you should still be driving a new truck.

What are you driving now?  Did they set you up w/a Metro?

Sorry to hear about your baby!  :)

Not sure how far you went up the "chain of command" @ chevy, but I'd be pounding on the regional manager to replace the engine w/ new one.

Maybe keep in your back pocket to push for the extended PT warranty if they absolutely will not budge on the engine replacement.

Best of luck!

Updating the saga of DEAD DURAMAX

Well I got the BBB Autoline paperwork today, Need to fill it out and return so that they can schedule arbitration hearing.

Still not heard a peep from the Factory Rep. or anyone else for that matter. It's as though they think if they ignore me I will go away. Not a chance, I'll

see this through to the bitter end.

I know I got a bad one and not every DMAX is going to die. Eventually I will once again be behind the wheel of a 2500HD D/A, whether it will be my

original or a new one remains to be seen.

Thanks for all the support you guys have given me!

If it was me I would be calling the dealer three times a day. When they got sick of me I would start calling the regional rep three times a day until I got a new motor or whole new truck. My personal experience is if you don't hound them they will take their sweet time.
