Duramaximizier?

Recommended Posts

Have been reading about a product called a Duramaximizer.  Would appreciate comments from anybody who has used one. My only experience with such products has been through extended usage of Hypertech programmers.  Have been well pleased with Hypertech but what I have heard about the Duramaximizer would seem to indicate it is a much more advanced product.    ???

I guess the addition of aftermarket performance mods is a "to each his own" thing, but I'm not planning on any major ones.  For the 5er that I pull (10K pounds), the stock duramax/allison has all the balls I need.  A couple of things I'd be concerned about: what would it do to the warranty, and what would it do to the longevity of the engine?  For someone pulling very heavy loads, or hot-rodding these trucks, a chip might be the ticket, but again, I think the stock truck has plenty of power.  Maybe someone who has run chip in their dmax could comment.

Now, with all that being said...400-500 hp and 700-800 ft-lbs. of torque does sound pretty cool.  :)

:) I was pulling my 13,000 lb fifth wheel up a 6% grade full throttle in fourth gear at 67 MPH and slowing steadily with the DURAMAXIMIZER turned off, holding the throttle all the way down just as the truck slowed to 64 MPH I reached for the MAXIMIZER control knob and turned it to the max position and not only did the truck stop any furthur deceleration, but I actually started to accelerate back above 65 MPH and beyond.

All this performance gains on my DIESEL without any additional noise, after all that is one of the things I like about the DURAMAX it is QUIET.

They have some kool performance videos @ www.duramaximizer.com

Appreciate the info .... As mentioned by some above, my Duramax seems to have plenty of power to meet the demands I place upon it.  Have been reading about the Juice and am trying to make up my mind as to which aftermarket product to buy.  Guess I'm getting too old because I'm no longer into racing, hot rodding or other such activities.  However, should I have a spell and revert back to my younger days, I do like the ideal of having a major ace in the hole.  Right now am leaning towards the Maximizer because of the instant off-on feature mentioned above.  99.9% of the time my unit will be off, really like the ability to turn it on and off at the flip of a switch from inside the cab.  Any additional information from persons with a unit installed would be most welcome. :)
