Has anyone ever expierenced broked motor mounts on there truck? I was reading on another forum a guy was saying he had a vibration similar to mine you get a vibration from speeds of 70 -80 mph then it tends to go away at higher speeds. I thought it was my u joints they seem to be tight. I also thought it could possibly be my brake rotors. What do you think??????

I'd look at the u-joints and go from there.

I looked at the u joints they seem to be tight. The vibration does seem like it goes right through the middle of the truck though the dash and everything moves up in down but i also feel it in the steering wheel...

You can't check u-joint while the shaft is installed. Sure the joints may be tight bit the needle bearings may not have any lube in them. If you still have OE joints in there and anything over 50K that is the first place. To check the MM just put the truck in drive with the brakes on, goose the motor and see if the motor moves excessive. If the mount is broke you will see it right off.

Yup. U-Joints can exhibit all manner of bizarre symptoms before failure. On my '02, I got no vibration (none that I recall now anyway), but were sqeaking and clanking pretty bad. Got it off, and there was just rusty powder inside one of them.

My '92 (as well as my '89) suffered vibrations at specific speeds, but no abnormal sounds.

U-Joints are cheap, start there
