minor disappointments

Just bought a new 2500HD Sierra. I previously had a 2000 Chevy one ton.

My new 2500HD is really nice. But whats up with the cheap sun visors? I have the SLE trim. My 2000 had nice visors with lighted vanity mirrors plus visor extenders that slid out. My new truck has no lighted visor mirrors, and no extendors. Whats worse if the sun is setting to your side, chances are the visors aren't wide enough to help. Seems like a step backwards.

Also, no hangers over the back window in my crew cab like the 2000. Again, a small deal, put it sure was handy to hang hats on.

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to the forum. You aren't the only one here that has noticed the visors aren't really that great. Some people have actually swapped them out for other visors. (I think Caddy)

Welcome to the forum! Is your new HD an 02? I ask because my 01 Z71 had no extenders in the visor, but my 02 HD does have them. No lighted vanity mirrors though. That's okay, I don't need to see my ugly mug anyway. LOL!

I think it has more to due with production cost constraints! You've got a great lineup of engines and transmissions that your 2000 didn't. That's where the bulk of the $$$ went, to the engine and driveline.

My HD is a new leftover 01. If the o2 has the extendors, I may consider trying to find a set. As for the illuminated vanity mirror, I can surely live without it on my side, but my wife kind of liked that in our one ton.

Again, these are small complaints. I am really impressed with the truck.

Jason / JPCustoms.com is working on a kit to add these to our trucks.. I think I will eventually order these and the SWAC's from him after I get more important mods out of the way.

Yes I do have a Skater. It's a little 24 foot with a pair of Merc 2.4 Bridgeports. The boat was the former world and national champion that raced under the name of Skater Express.

I remember the boat, looks great repainted! I almost bought a 28 a few years ago. I had a 24' Challenger back then but couldn't see the additional 50k ???

I don't know what is up with the new sun visors on these trucks. They are definately a down grade from the ones on the old body style truck. I you find replacements for them post it because I would be interested in changing mine out for the better ones.
