so i think i need to upgrade my gears now that i have a lift and ovesized tires, but i need help figuring out where to go to get some new gears and what to ask for...SO any suggestions???

I would highly recommend "Precision Gear" gears. I did alot of research before purchasing mine and that is what I bought. I have been very happy!

I am going to assume your truck came stock with 265 tires (approx 31.5" tall) and 3.73 gears. Now you are running 35" tires so to get back in the same power band as with the factory setup you will need to run 4.10 gears.

I bought my gears from Reider Racing http://reiderracing.com/

Find a reputable shop that does R&P replacement on a daily basis. Set up is as expensive as the gears and you don't want to pay for it twice!

honestly it has NO problems getting up and screaming down the road, the engine is VERY strong. With the lift i have and tires the ride is very smooth, and its honestly better than the stock ride....my baby is BEAUTIFUL nor is she sluggish, especially after i get a dual exhaust and air intake she will have way more power, i just heard that i should get some different gears because it would help my mpg

That is good to know. I am thinking of ordering a new 07 Sierra Reg. Cab 4X4 with the 5.3L and want to do something similar to you (6" lift with 35's). I am considering ordering it with the 4.10 gears, but am not sure it that is best??

yeah, its been well worth it i love it. Every time i get in it i and start it up i love sitting a little higher up than most people, except for a few of my buddies in their harley davidson f-250's with 10'' lifts and 40'' tires, they kinda put my truck to shame but im not trying to compensate for anything like they are :-D

If you want to return the truck to the same power as before the lift divide the current tire size (35) by the previous tire size (??) and multiply by the current gear ration (?.??). That will give you a ratio. Then figure out what gear ratio is the closest. ie. Mine is 35 divided by 31 then mulitply 4.10

35/31=1.129

1.129 x 4.10 = 4.62 or 4.56 gears
