3500 Tail Lights,

Recommended Posts

Does anyone with a new 3500 know the part numbers for the tail lights (the ones with the black trim around them)?  I really like the black trim around them better than any of the slotted aftermarket covers and might be interested in putting them on my truck.

Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the info.  Now is that the P/N's for the whole tailight or just the trim pieces?

I took my truck in for a couple recalls this morning and the guy at the parts counter told me he couldn't find a number for just the trim and I would have to order the whole tailights, which were ? and some dollars each.  I don't really want them that bad.

Thanks again.

Kyle,

I havn't found out anything good.  I'm not paying that much money for each tailight just to get the trim.  GMpartsdirect.com had them for ? something, but that's still too much for me.  If I could get just the trim pieces, I would pay up to 40 or 50 dollars.  My second option is to get some Lund Eclipse slotted tailight covers.  They are basically like the trim on the 3500's except the horizontal parts the go accross the tailight are a little wider and the texture is different.  The Lund's appear to be smooth.

I looked at the light bar on a truck at the dealer also.  I think you could be able to get that from the dealer without buying anything else.  There are a couple pretty good size holes that may need to be drilled in the bed for it to be mounted like the 3500's, unless you modify it in some way so as not to have to drill more than neccesary.

I can't believe you can't get that trim piece seperate.  After all, they aren't all one piece.  Just doesn't make any sense to me.  I sure wouldn't pay that much money just to get the trim.  Maybe before long there will be some wrecked 3500's around that a guy could get them off of.  If I happen to here about something, I will see if I can get them for ya.

I was wondering what I would have to do to mount that light bar.  Last time I looked over a 3500, I completely forgot to look at that.  Guess I got distracted by something else.
