Things I would like to see on the HD's

Recommended Posts

I have come up with a couple of things I would like to see GM offer on the 2500HD and 3500 before I have the funds to purchase one.

  • 4.56 gears as an option with both the Vortec 6.0 and 8.1
  • 3.55 and 4.10 gears as an option with the Duramax diesel (with an up in GCWR with the 4.10's)
  • Larger stock tires, on both the 2500HD and 3500
  • Optional camper package/overload springs on the 2500HD
  • Two-tone paint (not a big deal, but some people really want this)
  • More choice on options, instead of having to get stuff in packages.  Anybody seen the options for 2002?  I will make another post dealing with this......

You guys have anything you would like to see?

Prices!  Make a LT CC Duramax come within ? of a Lariat CC PSD.

--locking tailgate

--Light-Duty Grille (Gmc's looks great)

That still don't make either one of them extremely cheap.  LOL  Honestly I would have mentioned price, but the 2500HD/Duramax I would want actually costs less then a comparable F350/PSD.....

LOL!!  Not for me!  The Dmax listed almost 4 grand above the Ford.  Now if I went with a 6.0L/4l80e, the price would be very competitive.  If you compare all the options listed for the LT, the Gm is a better deal.

Friz:

60%Ford

40%Chevy

.000001% Dodge

I can't believe it, but I forgot the most important one.  GM needs to make their camper mirrors both power extending and power adjustable.  Either incorporate this into the current design, or use the same mirrors as on the SuperDutys.

Pastmaster,

what exactly does the LT come with that a Lariet doesn't?  I'm not up to speed on what comes with those two trim levels, because a LS or XLT would be more then enough for me.  To bad the truck is in Dodge City, because I would really like to drive that combo....

I'm not exactly sure, but for Ford you have to add the option to the allready ? Lariat option.  Time will change that.   First is heated seats, heated mirrors, onstar (not available on Ford), tint, ???,  Which all I can do without, but if it's no cost why not have it?... You can get leather with an LS, but I don't think in buckets, which is what I want.  The XLT is fine, but then you wouldn't get the power mirror, temp, etc etc, or leather.  So really there's no real comparison.

I'm not even sure what year I would get one, and diesel's sound like a better deal every day, so by then maybe Ford will have a closer match?

With the LS you can get leather power buckets, but by the time you spend the money on the seats you can get all the other options on the LT for the same price.  The LT has heated power leather buckets with memory,  Onstar, deep tinted glass, rear window defogger and heated outside mirrors, auto-dim rearview mirror with compass and temp...  and the list goes on, all as standard equipment...

The LT is not available in the reg cab as far as I know though...
