NEW TRUCK IS HERE!!

Recommended Posts

I picked up my new truck yesterday!! so far I love it... only 150 miles on it so far and only 20 of them are mine... I do have a couple of questions.. How are you supposed to store CD's in the fold down arm rest? it looks like it was made for tapes... and  where am i supposed to store all my stuff? there is no room under the seats and behind the seat is that big plastic cover ofer where the jack is... does anyone make a storage tray or something for behind the seat?

It took long enough to get that truck, I hope its well worth the wait.  I'm suprised there isn't any storage room behind the seat.  Would you say its worse then behind the seat of a regular cab C/K truck?  I seen something in Cabelas one time that might work, if you get that magazine I would look in there for some ideas.

What kind of stuff are you looking to stow?  Ours being a farmtruck we are pros at finding places for everything!  Of course, with this one we finally broke down and bought a toolbox for the bed.  Made us wonder just why the heck we hadn't done that earlier.  We got a very narrow and shallow box that is more than enough room for all our stuff.  I suggest something like that if you are looking to stow tow straps, hitchpins, and stuff like that.

I ended up having the dealer locate one for me... the one i ordered in June still hasn't been built... the last TPW I had was 11/19... I can't wait that long for a plow truck... it could snow any day now.

Oh I tend to collect lots of junk... mostly i want some tools and bungee cords and a short length of rope... The usual stuff.. there is a plastic cover that goes accross the whole area hehind the seat that covers the jack I guess.. I can put stuff on top but it just slides off... I don't want a toolbox in the bed though. I need the room for firewood and other loads...

My '91 regular cab had a plastic jack storage box behind the seat.  It had a wing nut that you removed to get to the jack.  There was quite a bit of empty space in there, so I used that space to store "soft" items that you could shape the way you wanted, things like gloves, bungee's, rope, etc.  I havn't seen the jack storage boxes in the new trucks, but I would imaging you could do something similar.

Now that looks like a great idea!! I'll have to look that over... I know that the space is there under the hood... What kind of brackets would I need? perhaps the same ones that are holding the jack in place already.... I could just take out the plastic cover and put a full length storage box in...

Congrats on the new truck Wolfie...  I want to see some pics with the plow hanging on it and the wheels and wheel wells full of snow, and the armrest filled with all the cash you made on the side plowing peoples driveways!!!   LOL

DeeZee was the company that makes the behind the seat storage compartment I mentioned above.  Their website says they don't have anything for the new Silverados, but I can't see why they wouldn't have something out by now.  They wanted about $50 for it though.

Can't wait to see some pictures of your truck with the plow on it.
