2500HD Skid Plate Weight

Recommended Posts

I bet they weigh 25 lbs or less...  (I'm guessing).

I think it is pretty insignificant, when it would come to weight savings for trailering capacity.  I would be very surprised if you could remove 200 lbs altogether by taking off or removing pieces of your truck that you don't need.

What cab configuration is your truck?  I know of guys with the previous generation crew cabs, that can get rid of between 600 and 700lbs to get down to weight.  (for a truck pull)  Now you probably wouldn't be able to gain this much as they go with minimum levels of gas and no spare tire, but you could probably lose 400lbs if you really needed too.

Kyle is right, you can shed a bunch of weight off your truck depending on how much you are willing to lose.  Skid plates would be a drop in the hat, but there are several other pieces that could be lost.  Not going to speculate on anything since I know nothing of your truck.
