2 birds one stone

Recommended Posts

1:a lot of the tweekers/tuners have been removing the coolant lines heating the throttle body, this is to keep the intake charge cooler therefor denser and more power, the increase is said to be 0-5 hp (not noticeable) I would think this would come at a price of minor fuel economy more air=more fuel (If i was worried about fuel I would not have gotten a Big Block) there is also a possibility of iceing (why it is heated in the first place) but have heard northerners have no problem so I know i will not in GA

2:there has been a problem with dextron in the first cars making a deposit if it becomes contaminated with dirt a change in the cap suposedly fixes this but still makes sense to do some preventiv maintenance, so the diesel guys got this kit together to filter the coolant http://www.kennedydiesel.com/dieselproducts/index.html cool :sigh: but my 8.1 does not have these ports so that kit is not useful (I want a clear one anyways)  as it sits now any bit of trash will circulate til the end of time un restricted damaging as it goes at least with such a filter it will get cought eventualy

so I was thinking of bypassing my TB and useing those ports for installing a in line filter,

only thing is will a fuel filter hold up to dextron?

stupid/good idea? anybody see ponential problems? has someone already tried this yet?
