2WD- 2500HD 8100 w/Allison 8ft bed

My father-in-law is looking for a 2WD 2002 Silverado LX Extended Cab 2500HD 8100 w/Allison, Long bed. He will just use it for pulling a 35ft fifth wheel.

Is it possible to find one? ???  Seems like an impossible combination, unless you order it. Oh, BTW he really just wants to consider, Carmine Red, Green or Indigo Blue.  (not white)

Has anyone purchased any thing like it?  And, if you order through a dealer, how long can you expect it to take? {They are heading to Florida in Feb to catch spring training.}

Thanks,

 Julie

Good luck, but I think you will probably have to order one.  The one thing I've noticed about the new HD trucks, is that GM is making almost no 2wd trucks and mostly shortbed trucks.  If you were looking for a extended cab/shortbed 4wd it wouldn't be a problem finding one.   :sigh:

Gonna have to disagree w/ the Kansas Kid on this one.

When I was looking around to buy my new rig after the Ford blew up, it was darn near impossible to find my configuration in the states of Idaho, Eastern Washington, Montana, and Oregon.  I did my homework.  The rigs I was finding alot of was the configuration you are looking for.  Alot were in the 4x4 setup, but I did see some 2wd's.  You should be able to find one with a little looking.  Use the internet.  Bring up chevy and GMC sites, then have those sites bring up the dealers in your area.  Search their sites.  You should be able to browse their stocks online and find what you need.

I believe on GMC's site you can also just do a search for the model and options you want, write in your area code, and it'll bring up all the vehicles that meet up with your criterea.

Hope this helps out.

We found one! :sigh:   Actually we found about 4 with the exact configuration.  One in Florida, one in San Antonio, one in Ohio, and one in Indiana. There were more, but these were the ones that were not white.

My Father-in-law is flying to Indiana today to take care of the paperwork and pick it up.  A long way to go to get a truck (we are in Arkansas), but if we ordered one it may not have arrived in time for the big trip, and the 0% financing would have expired.  It was worth the trip, I guess.

Thanks for the replies and opinions!
