upgraded to larger tires, alignment needed?

Hey I'm a new dude here even though I've been registered for awhile and lurking forever. Anyways I have a 2002 Z71 that I have recently ditched the LT265/75/R16 road tires for a set of Cooper Discoverer STT's in the LT285/75/R16 flavor. Everything fits great with no rubbing and the look is absolutely great. I'm just curious if an alignment after upgrading to the taller tire is needed. The truck still drives good and tracks pretty straight. I've seen some conflicting stuff as to if an alignment is actually needed. Can anyone give me an opinion on the matter?

Wouldn't be a bad idea since you paid a lot of money on tires but it's not necessary.

I'm gonna get it checked out this afternoon. I'll feel better that way.

 

Edit: Got it checked and it was fine, but peace of mind wasn't bad for $45.
