Ujoints Grinding?

Recommended Posts

I have a 95 yukon gt when i hit the accelerator i get a grinnding noise . I thought it was my starter so i checked to see if it was hanging up on my fly wheel but no. Then i had my buddy drive as i stuck my head out the rear door. It sounds like my rear diff. I put it up on jacks and ran it but no noise. Only when i have it on the ground does it do it. also if i accelerate slow it doen't happen but if you feather the gas it grinds almost immediatly. Checked rear diff lube, tranny fluid, it also does it in od d 2 1. i have only messed with it for a half hour. can a ujoint grind if bad? any help is appreciated.

Yes, grab ahold of the drive shaft and shake it if it is loose, you need new joints. They all need to be replaced at the same time, not just the bad joint.
