Bed tilt/sag

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I've checked through the search engine but haven't been able to find anything.  It seems to me that the Left rear corner of the truck is sagging or squatting down more than the rest of the truck.

Anybody else have this expereince?  What'd you do to fix it?

Thanks

Sean

Well, I'd almost buy that train of thought except it is a shortbox with only 26 gallons of gas and it does it even when empty.

But maybe that's just the way it is...

Any other thoughts/ideas/suggestions????

Do a search on something like this.  I seem to remember another user having this sort of problem and how it was fixed.  I think it may have involved a slight torsion bar tweaking or maybe even shims under the body mounts.  Going from memory this is something that the dealer should help you correct.

Good luck.

There was a guy here a long time ago with this problem.  He had to have the rear springs replaced on one side.  The dealer claimed he had been overloaded but did the warranty work anyhow (if I remember right?!?!)

Appearantly one of the rear springs had lost some of it's arch...

We had the same problem with out 2500HD work truck, called the dealer, he was aware of the problem. He said they usually take the trucks to a spring shop and have the springs re-arched. He ended up not re-arching our springs though, the work order said they adjusted the ride height. I assume they adjusted the torsion bars. I just bought a 2002 2500HD myself and it appears to squat a little

I've mentioned this before and I'll say my two cents again.  I noticed after I fully cycled the suspension a few times.  I mean like over 3,000lbs of payload.  This corrected the sag and the back of the truck sits very level now.  Try it and see. :D
