5 speed shifter knob

Recommended Posts

My Texas Aggie friend was having a very difficult time attempting to drive my truck yesterday. He said the gears were 'all backwards'. When I showed him that the shift pattern was unintentionally upside down, he understood.

All kidding aside, I assume this is threaded at the base. I started to fix it, then I hestitated because I had images of a stripped out sleeve or a stripped out base. It seems to be on there pretty tight. Any tips from those who have adjusted theirs before I make myself look sillier than the Aggie in my invented story? I know I am probably being overly cautious about stripping it out...
