6" lift with a 3" body???

Recommended Posts

I'm looking into buying this truck.

It's a 2000 Seirra which claims to have a 6" susp lift and a 3" body on 36's.

Trucks I have seen with a 6"/3" on 36's look alot bigger.

Could I be wrong???

Does this truck look to have a 6" susp and a 3" body???

Thanks

Its hard to say looking at the pictures, but something doesnt appear right. First, does anyone know if the 2000 sierras had torsion bars? I dont see them at all in these pics. You should be able to look at the rear axle where the leaf springs connect and see what size block (if any) is inserted in there for the lift. My 6" has 5" blocks in the rear i believe so its pretty easy to tell.

Most 6" kits only allow 35" tires from what i have seen so if those are indeed 36" tires and there is no rubbing then i would assume that there is indeed a body lift installed as well. Do you see any spacers installed between the body and the frame rails where it mounts? Could you get any pictures of the underside of the truck to illustrate more clearly?

Well it definately has a body lift. Sure looks like a 2wd (which by the way they sell lift kits for) It could be the new rough country non t-bar drop lift though. That would mean it was lifted recentlly. Tires look as tall if not 1" taller tham my 35's. Front air damm has been trimmed to clear the tires.

There for sure is a body lift of 3". I saw the truck last night. I just thought that a 9" total lift would clear 36's a little bit more. He told me it was CST 6" lift. It was nighttime so I really couldn't get under and check everything out. He persoanlly didn't have the lift done, he bought it already lifted.

Compared it to a few pictures so indeed might be a 9" lift.

Oh by the way it's a 200 Seirra 2wd. No Torsions. Just regualr IFS

The 2wd is about 2in lower than a 4wd. A 4wd would clear 35's with a 6 inch but you'll have to trim a little. So compared to a 4wd the 2wd is sitting about 7" so I"m sure the 36's are stuffed in there.

Did they regear the truck after the lift and tires? If it's not geared right it's gonna be ruff on the rearend and tranny it will also shift in and out of OD a lot on the highway when the cruise control is set.
