Almost did it

Recommended Posts

As some of you know, I'm looking for a used K2500/3500.  Last Sunday on a sort of drool trip I drove through the local GMC dealer's line of new HDs.  Even though I had no intent of even thinking of buying a new truck, I checked all the prices.  There it was, 2001 2500HD, 4x4, reg cab, 6.0L, auto, for .  Seeing as that was only about ? above the price of the used trucks I've been looking at it was awfully tempting.  Went back today and the truck was gone.  I suppose I'll really be kicking myself six months down the road, but they make new trucks everyday.

I agree.  The price of 3-5 year old trucks is pretty outrageous, so why not buy new?

What kind of interest rates could a guy expect to get at this time?

Call me a fool, but I am hoping to pay for this truck, whatever it may be, right off the bat.  I hope to avoid payments if possible.

I agree, for the price used trucks are bringing buying new should be the way to go.  Until this point the only new trucks that compared to used ones price wise were plain janes.  Since this will be my only vehicle I am hoping for something with some more creature comforts.  Now that the "newness" of the HDs is starting to wear off a bit I may find myself looking at them a little more closely.  It would be awesome if I could end up with one of those.

I'm not sure what they are now, but get this.... we got a0.9% rate when we got my truck(3 years)! That was 2 years ago, and it was even from GMAC!  It was this time of year also.

With the economy the way it is right now, and considering it is almost the end of the model year i would be shopping around!

There's no such thing as a good deal from GMAC on a new HD's.

That doesn't suprise me. In that case i guess a non-gm lender might be the way to go.
