Anybody Lift theirs yet?

Recommended Posts

I've got a 2001 2500HD LT crew cab short box, 8.1L and the 5spd Allison tranny. I am going up 6" and will be running 35/12.5/R16 Swamper SSR's - Still deciding on what wheels to use.

As far as I can tell Superlift and RCD are the only two companies that currently make lifts for this truck.

I had a 4-6" Superlift on my '95 Z71 ext cab with 33" BFG's and never had a problem with it (over 100K lifted mi on it) so I am leaning towards the Superlift.

Anybody have any first hand experience with either ?

i was thinking about lifting my 95, but debating about it. i'd really like a 5th wheel sport hauler, and lifting it would cause problems. with that style of trailer. have to see where my long range goals fall, if i stick with my current sport hauler then i might lift it and run 33s. not sure if i want 35s, have those on my 89, its nice, but i dont know.

Yes, I will definately lose the 5th wheel capability, but I am willing.

I used to have a '79 Chevy 1/2 ton long bed on 35's. I eventually went to 40's but should have stayed with the 35's. Best combination of ground clearance/driveability that I ever had.

I'm driving a stock truck for the first time in over 15 years and I'm itchin' to do some tweakin'..............

I just ordered a new 2002 2500HD crewcab w/ the Duramax and I plan on lifting it also. I currently have 99 Silverado 1500 w/ 4" and 34" BFG's. I have been doing some research on lifts for the HD and have found a company called Full Throttle that makes lifts also the fore mentioned RCD and Superlift. I looked at the offroadunlimited.com web site and am considering a solid axle swap and running 37" BFG's on 17" Welds. I was wondering if you have a preference or any comment on an axle swap. I'm still jugling the option myself as to which will be best for me.

Currently have 285/75R16's on Weld 16x8's.  They look GREAT but are rubbing real bad.  Finally Cranked Torsion bar's today as a short term fix :D .  I'm debating to get a superlift 6" kit for installation.  What can you say good or bad about superlift.  How did the dealers work with you regarding warranty?
