I've actually heard some disturbing stories about Fram.  (I used to really use nothing but Fram).  My friends son bought a used Interceptor Mustang from the Police Dept.  He did some work to it and also installed a high volume oil pump and a new Fram with the "gripper" coating on it.  To make a long story short he actually sepperated the housing from the base and blew all his oil out in about 100 yards.  He was very lucky because he shut down when he saw the pressure drop and he wasn't hard on the gas or he would've wrecked due to the oil on the rear tires.

I exclusively use OE (AC/Delco) filters on my vehicles.  I have them dealer installed and everything is documented and fully warranted.

As for the 1 pint in 2200 miles you are OK.  You have a big block and they are prone to using some oil...  I know it sounds excessive, but you could use up to one quart in between oil changes, and you shouldn't be concerned...

There are alot of big moving parts inside your motor, and they need lubed!!!  None the less it's a good thing to have the dealer make a note of your concern ;)

RIPMF,

I agree with what Shaners said.  Use only AC filters (Fram is junk) and every GM big block I've ever owned used a little oil.  My HD only has 2800 miles on it, and I haven't used any so far, but I wouldn't be suprised for it to begin using 1/2 quart or so between oil changes.
