2001 HD
Welcome walkerkd! Sounds like a nice ride. You can crank your torsion bars using the 2 nuts sticking out under the TB rear mounting bracket. Adjusting a small amount to level out the truck shouldn't cause any problems, but anything more than 1-1/2 to 2 inches usually needs to have a front end alignment. The more you crank it, the harsher the ride will be and will also let more air under the truck giving you a "squirrilier"? ride at highway speeds. Shaners
Congrats on your new purchase and welcome to the GM family and GM-Trucks.com. A slight torsion bar crank will raise the front slightly and will help level out your truck. On the down side as oon as you out any load in the bed, your truck will be sitting low in the rear. I put about 3/4" of torsion bar adjustment in my HD and my back of the truck still rides higher than the front. That's the way they are supposed to look in my opinion (although some of them are really too high in the rear). Why did you pick a gasser instead of the Duramax? The 8.1L is an awesome motor, but after having a dodge and ford diesel I would have thought you would have gone full circle and got the GM version too... Jpshostr
You must be doing some pretty serious driving, 1500 in three days, wow! Glad to see you are already using it for work. Now you just gotta get a gooseneck on the thing and see if you can give it a little strain.
