The otherside

I just picked up my 2500hd on Oct.31st,Man what a truck! I had a 99 F350 crewcab 4x4 with the v10 that was a piece of junk since day 1(piston slap, bad brakes, and 2 trannys in 80,000 miles)I can't believe the power difference with the 8.1 and the Allison tranny. This truck is made for pulling my 30ft toyhauler, the only question I have is Are the trucks pre wired for power towing mirrors? The ones that came with it are manual and do they even make power towing mirrors? Thanks

Welcome Blue2002,

There is a thread about towing mirrors going on in the "light-duty" section right now.  As MountaineerTom says, there is a member here (Steve Cornell) that has the Lucerix after market towing mirrors on his truck.  Here is a link to his web site...

there has to be another options for power towing mirrors. those would just not look right on my 95. its too much of that odd new truck styling.  that and ultra expensive. 300-400 dollars last time i checked.

I'll echo what I said in the other thread about the Ford towing mirrors.  You won't be able to find much that are near as good as what Ford has in this area.  I might even find a way to make them work on a Silverado if worse comes to worse and GM doen't start making some adequate towing mirrors.

Yes, welcome. I have an 8.1\allison and I have not had one bit of trouble with the truck. My son bought a 2002 dodge ram and I went to LA with him on a trip and that dodge rode and drove like a truck........haha. The 2500 HD has me spoiled. It rides so smooth and has all that power. In fact it rides and handles better when I am towing something. Best vehicle I have ever owned...............
