I didn't know you could get an ext. cab with that bed. When I first looked at the pics, I thought you had a CC judging by the bed. I had to go back and look after you gave the configuration.

Yeah sometimes i wish the bed was longer when i haul stuff but otherwise i like being able to fit in a parking garage.

Now a curiousity question - why the shorter bed? Before the 1/2 ton crew cabs you could either get a 'short bed' - 6.5ft. or a long bed - 8 ft. When they created the crew cab they added space to the cab and took it out of the bed in order for the overall truck length to stay the same and so it would fit in a standard garage.

 

So, with an extended cab, and the 5 + ft bed, the overall truck must be shorter.

 

Why would you want the shorter bed?

 

Your truck looks awesome by the way - I am not slamming your decision. Just wondering.

Those pics were actually taken nowhere near campus, they were taken off of westhimer way the hell out west by american shooting centers.

 

I got the truck for a few reasons, one is that i got the truck with the consideration that for the next 4-5 years i will be parking at UH in some of the smallest god forsaken parking lots and garages plus i spend a lot of time downtown and the size helps. plus i like being uniqe and there aren't many of these out there. And the only engine offered in the Extended cab Short Bed config is the 5.3L and you couple the 5.3L with a relatively lite truck you get some really cool results. That and when i bought it i liked it and it had all the options i wanted barring a few and because it had the 5.3L when gas was d**n near $3.00 i got a hell of a deal.
