tire pressure question

Recommended Posts

Load range? I'm presuming you're running load range D's, so 40 PSI is a little on the high side of the middle. I'd actually suggest about 35 PSI for proper tire wear, but you must remember that BFG A/T's have stiffer sidewalls than most tires and will ride rough anyway. That being said, you'll probably have to experiment with your tire pressure and see how the tires wear wherever you put the PSI.

Mine had 60PSI after the tire shop installed the BFG's A/T...I dropped it to 50 COLD...gets to about 53 when hot...I put 2 80 lb bags of concrete in bed just in front of the tailgate..better ride...If you run tires at 35PSI cold I'd check the sidewall temp after driving about an hour...if they are too hot to touch I'd pick up the pressure a bit.

I've always ran around 40 in the front and 32 in the back.  I get the best wear on the tires with this combination.

Are these stock tires or BFG's A/T's

Sorry shorepatrol2...that question was directed to tflessner...

I find running lower pressures the sidewall gets real hot and the MPG goes through the floor...
