CO camping pics

Here are a few pics from a camping/fishing/4wheeling trip a few weeks ago with some buddies. We caught the Tincup Pass trail in St. Elmo and followed that trail up into the Almont area of Taylor reservoir. Tincup pass is an extremely easy trail for any 4x4 and the top of the pass is very picturesque. Once we set up camp near Almont we just randomly hit more challenging trails and off shoots from there.

My buddy from MI took a real nice video of the good trail stuff but we are still trying to figure out how to burn it to a DVD....and edit out the colorful language.

Here are a few.

A buddy from Michigan that caught the only fish of the day. Still think he bought it at the general store and snuck it onto his fishing pole w/o us noticing. Seems odd he was the only one to catch a fish that day.

Me making hobo potato pies and getting ready to cook up Mark’s fish (that we are sure he bought and snuck in under his Detroit bank robber hat)

Whoops….forgot one funny picture.

Some poor sole had his el cheapo JC Whitney ATV receiver mount cooler caddy break off on one of the trails and apparently ditched it on the side of the trail where I happen to spot it. Anyway, when you flip it upside down, it makes for a nice campfire fish and hobo potato pie grilling machine. Now that I have it back home I am going to buzz saw off the receiver mount that is totally in the way for cooking and add a brace underneath to support the mesh for future grilling. Nice trail score.

Yep, that is a stock Silverado in the back ground. My neighbor rode in on the nice dirt pack road from Buena Vista into Almont to meet with us at the camping spot. He has a 2003 Silvy Z71 with a Palomino Bronco popup camper.

That looks an awful lot like my daily commute, even the cows wandering down the middle of the road (I bet there's very few of you who can honestly say that you were late to work because you got stuck in the middle of a cattle drive  ) I don't have time to stop and fish on the way to work though :banghead:

Nice pictures though, it looks like a lot of fun!

Here are a more relaxing Colorado shots from my garage yesterday morning (9-23-06). I surely didn’t have this kind of view when I lived in Detroit. :driving:

Larry...I hate you a little more each every time you post pics.

Can I be your kid?

I don't eat much or poop on the carpet.

Heck yeah, since we have no curtin crawlers you are welcome ….as long as you know how to cook, clean, do dishes, vacuum, do floors, bathe the 3 family dogs, do laundry, pick weeds, mow grass, change Tahoe, Silverado, K20, C20, G6 oil, kill snakes, spiders, scorpions, use a 22 to shoot prairie dogs, wax off tree scratches from big blue, clean the garage floor, etc…..You're hired. We have room in the basement anytime you want. :driving:
