hi all, this is my first time posting here, so i hope i have this in the right forum. i was just curious as to what some of you all have your rev limiters set at? i have a '04 sierra with a 5.3 in it. i believe that the stock setting is at 5200 (not sure)? i am just trying to figure out what a good optimal setting would be. thanks

I lowered mine (not sure to what), you also have to raise lower the shift points accordingly or the rev-limiter will be pointless. If you lower it you must lower shift points or the truck will rev up to the limiter and never shift because it cannot reach the speed of the shift point, or If you raise the rev limiter and not the shift points it will shift sooner than the limiter is set at.

The rev limiter, for 03-06 electric throttle controlled trucks, is set at 5900. The transmission's 1-2 WOT shift is set for 5600 and the 2-3 shift is 5200. This from tunes I have looked at.

My rev limiter is set at 6200, 1-2 and 2-3 shift are at 5800.
