Help identifying lift and selecting wheels/tires

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I am needing some help identifying the lift on my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500. I know it has Rancho shocks but that is about it! It looks like there are 4" blocks on the leaf springs, so does that mean it's a 4" suspension lift?

Also it currently has some american racing atlas wheels with BFG 285 16s. I did some research and the atlas wheels come in 8" 0r 10" widths. I am assuming mine are the 8". Is 285 the widest I can go? I think some 305s would look sweet. If this won't work I may look into upgrading to some 18"s wheels.

Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks for helping this noobie out.

Looks like a rancho and they are considered 4-6" kits(depending on where the t-bars are set). The front sits 1- 1 1/2 inches lower stock so the lift kit manufactures only lift the back 4" to level out the truck. they are good kits. I run 305's on 8" rims.
