I just bought my truck Saturday. I wanted to toss a couple pictures up for comparison at some later date after I've made some changes. Kind of a "before" thing, ya know?

This caught my attention last night. This may be the biggest driveshaft I've ever seen!!

Okay, I'll see what I can do.

Something look into while you're waiting is this: on the window sticker it lists a "Southwest Package" that I think included a trim piece or two - the grill may have been part of that. I'm at work so I won't be able to post any updates until tomorrow.

Blk1500, I cannot find anything on that grill that indicates who or where it came from.

There's a honeycomb grill behind it, but if you look at the horizonal gaps at mid-point on each side the honeycomb has the same pattern, so I guess they go together. In other words, I don't think it's simply an insert slapped over the original.

The chrome is attached to the honeycomb with wingnuts. They are all lined up vertically and such, so I think it was installed professionally.

That's all I can offer. :driving:

:driving: Actually, the muffler on the Montana we got rid of was quite a bit bigger. My wife's Celica has a pretty massive muffler and it's only a 1.8L

Speaking of mufflers, I want to replace it with something fairly quiet at cruise but at least moderately aggressive under hard(er) accel. Any suggestions?

Of course I'll search the site for tips. And no, I'm not planning on redoing the entire exhaust.

Looks good. Except it painfully reminds me how a bugshield/bugguard is required on these trucks. It just looks too weird without them IMO. At least it seems that way with the white and black trucks.

The driveshafts are nice. 4" Aluminum. Because of their length they are prone to break with the modding crowd. Several have twisted on dynos and some on the road. If you tune and get the rev limiter upped be aware that you are pushing your luck at any speed over 100mph with them.

Magnaflow do make good catback systems. I also highly recommend the Corsa units. If you like a little more rumble go with the sport. If more mellow go the touring option.

White door handles would really look good....Nice truck! I have the magnaflow muffler with single in and dual out...sounds nice IMO. At first I did the flowmaster, but I couldn't hear the darn radio...sound good anyway, but I'd be "deaf" by now if I kept it!
