Magnaflow Catback Question--'06 Silverado Z71

Recommended Posts

I've got a bone stock 06 Silverado Z71 which I love, the only thing is I wish I could hear the V8! Stock is too quiet for me. So my question is if I go with a Magnaflow catback system keeping the single side exit (just like stock) will I lose any low end torque? I keep hearing about people losing low end torque after swapping exhaust systems. Admittedly most of the complaints have to do with Flowmaster and not the Magnaflow system which is what I am looking at. I am doing this primarily for the sound improvement. If I pick up some extra HP or torque then great, but I sure don't want to LOSE any  Please share your experience with the Magnaflow catback system especially if you have one on an '06 Silverado. Did you lose or gain torque/hp? Thanks in advance.

I have changed exhasts on almost all of my trucks and IMO most of the time you lose some low end torque on a stock motor. Not much but a little. I do it for the sound and always get a tuned pcm to make up for any loss of power.

I've got the magnaflow in my sig, and really love it. If I lost any torque, I sure didn't notice it and the smile on my face for the great sound is priceless.
