whats the best intake for the 6.0...ive heard the drop ins were'nt that effective

I would guess the K&N intake kit...however the Ram Air Volant ones seem to be pretty good too

i have the AEM brute force intake it does a pretty good job and it makes a nice sound with it too

K&N has gotten the most negative reviews on this board. But there are people who are happy with it.

I know Outlaw, and Brute Force are praised highly on this board.

And that one company that I can't think of, who uses the stock air box, but uses their "foam" drop in filter, and just adds a new more effective tube, to the throttle body, looks to be the best in my opinion.

After a great deal of research, I added the True Flow to my 02 Yukon XL 5.3L. You are correct in that it uses the factory air box but replaces the filter with a their foam element and a really nice metal tube. The entire unit is very high quality and fits just as they say it will. You will notice a little "intake music" at full throttle but other than that, it sounds like the factory unit. I have tested my first 3 tanks of gas and as of today, it has increased my mpg by a solid 1 MPG and best of all, you can actually feel the difference beginning around 2500RPM all the way up.

I would encourage you to go to their website and take a look. They have a great video on the site that does an excellent job telling their story.

Bottom line, it is a great looking piece that does exactly what they say it will.
