Make it Fast

I have a 1996 Sierra with a 5.7L vortec 350. It has 20" panther wheels with 275/45 R20 106v Brigstrone duellers. I have only had it for a week. It came with old dual flowmasters that are dumped(best sound i think). When i got it i put an AEM brute force CAI and removed the screen on the MAF.I just ordered a performance pcm from PCMforless.com.

This is going to be my new toy for a while and i want to make it fast. 1/4 mile in 19.19 and 0-60 in 10.25. What else can i do to make this thing fast. These are prettty popular trucks around here and i want mine to be the fastest.

I would like to do more bolt on stuff than major engine work for now

biggest bang for the buck ,,,,,, put new rear gears in it

the programming is going to be a huge difference. i recomend changing the torque converter next as well as a shift kit install. go with gm# 24204670. that will be a huge difference. i'm not sure what gear you have, but i'd recomend at least a 3.73 or 4.10 with that tire size. if you want to be the fastest you're going to either want to put a P1SC on it or Magnacharger.

well i raced a 97 z71 with straight pipes and an inkate with 3.73 gears, and got a bad start and beat him by a length and a half.

then i raced my buddies new 06' duramax stock with 8" lift 17"wheels and 33inch tiresand lost by about 4 lengths. those trucks are fast

a truck like that would be lucky to break into the 15's if the max is still stock. your truck just needs help.
