UCA Stop Modification?

Recommended Posts

Dear Group,

I recently cranked my T bars up 3 turns on my 1995 Suburban 4X4 which now has the passenger side UCA sitting against its stop located on the frame, effectively stopping any additional lift. I'd need to install a set of the Ford keys at this point as the drivers side key is max'd out.

Has anyone ever considered or performed a modification to the UCA stop to allow additional lift? Would this put the CV joints at a dangerous angle for quick distruction and as such not a recommended mod?

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks,

Glenn

The stops are there to keep the suspension from over extending. As you noticed your taking all down travel out of your suspension. That's the main draw back to t-bar cranking and ford key's. I imagine you could modify it but risk cv axle coming apart due to limited extension.
