Solid Front Axel?

Recommended Posts

Anyone done this on a 2500HD with the allison yet? Is there any kits available?

Seeing what my options are. I've been looking at the Full Throttle 6" lift as well.

It just seems that it would be nice to get all that suspension out from underneath the truck to make things simpler. What is the reason for the Indy front anyway?

Thanks for any help.

The reason for the IFS is that it is more street friendly (better ride).

Unless you are doing some serious off roading or want to go really high, there isn't much reason for swapping to a solid front axle. The IFS is pretty good for mild to moderate off road use. I would go with fabtech or cst over full throttle though. :chevrolet:

It's expensive, but worth it if you ask me.

It wouldn't be all that hard, just a lot of time and money. :chevy:

I only have one of the two. I'll give you one guess. But they have kits for everything. ABS, steering, you name it. I am actually going to do this in the near future. I'll start a thread sometime.

Rough Country has by far the best lift for the IFS on these trucks, they resolve the issue of the weak CV axles and they don't lower the bars whick gives more ground clearance. As for the Solid Axle Swap (SAS) thats the only way to go for serious off roading. If you just want the lifted look then go with the Rough Country Kit. By far the best thats out there.
