Westers on the Dmax?

Recommended Posts

Pop is looking for a tune for his truck. However, his main requirement is he needs to be able to haul the Camper and tow the boat (2800lbs, 4800lbs). Also, since he has a truck for work, this is his wifes daily driver, so he needs no buttons or extra stuff to mess with (she just won't do it). The main thing he is looking for is picking up a litte fuel economy, and having a few extra ponies to climb the Western US hills. So, I am thinking a custom tune from Westers or the like would be perfect.

Anyone have a Westers Deisel tune? What do you think?

I have a 90 hp westers tune on my 04.5 lly. It definately made a big improvement. I think they may have a 65 hp tune or something close that should give some mileage improvement. I've had my tune for quite a while so I am working with one of their vendors in Texas to get an update for mine. This is the first diesel I have owned so I wasn't sure what to expect out of the tune, but I'm glad I got it.

Are you working with Brian(www.westerscustomtuning.com)? We seems to be a good guy, very easy to talk to, and does not mind answering questions.

So, did you see any mileage improvement with the 90 hp tune?

i think he can pull 200 hp out of the old lb7's and 450 ft lbs, :loser: try calling him to ask, i personally would go with the edge with attitude because its an easy to use package, my friends got one with the pillar guages and all that good stuff and it gives him 5 levels so he can switch it all up depending if hes towing or not, its a pretty fast truck too... smoked some mustang gt's

oh yeah the trucks got a 14 inch lift and 44's with mud flaps and 4.56's

Read on another site today that you can get custom pcm from westers that they can code for just economy without giving up any performance. They have seen some get something like 25-28 mpg on the highway with a D-max. I'm not a diesel guy but that sounds pretty good. I would recomend you get ahold of a wester's rep. They are very helpful. I'm sure they could get you something like your looking for.
