Question regarding aftermarket grilles

Recommended Posts

I just recieved my Grille today but i have no idea how to install it. their instructions dont make much sense to me. It is a B-Cool Billet grille. If Anyone has any helpful advice as to what i need to do please reply. thanks alot.

It is the grille in the second pic http://www.b-coolbillets.com/vehicles/Chevy%20Grills.htm

step 1: remove stock grill shell, lay grille shell on surface that will not scratch shell, trim flush cross mesh out of factory shell, we suggest using a hack saw blade and sand smooth with 120 sand paper

step 2: Paint the black part of the grille shelll with flat black trim paint.

step 3: Install upp grille adjust centering it left to right, install two lower tabs with no hole pinching the factory shell between grille and tab as in picture at bottum. Now install L tabs on grille slotted tab on grille, push up tab, push top of grille back, mark holes and drill. install tinnerman clips and screws ready to go to the lower.

step 4: Install lower grille center left to right, install upper tabs the same as lower tabs on upper grille, mark center support at slotted tabs, removr grille place tinnerman clips on center support drill hole, re-install grille top tabs and center tab screws turn grille shell over, check your install you are ready to re-install the factory sell.

Confused on if i need to cut the whole stock grille out of the shell or if i just make holes to screw on over the stock. Some one help, im dying to see my Silverado with this grille

From what it sounds like you need to trim out the 'honeycomb' mesh from the upper and lower sections of your grille. Like they said, use a hacksaw blade (without the hacksaw) and trim them close. Sand the roughness down and spray a little paint in there to conceal the areas. Good luck!

Since I work for their competition I know grill installs. Do yourself a favor and call them up before you do anything. They should have a tech dept that can help you.

Probably just have to cut the mesh but you can only cut too much once!
