Rear Air

I am just wondering if the rear air system is its own, closed system that would also require recharging. Anyone know about this?

I'm not sure about the NBS. I have a '99 OBS Yukon with the rear auxiliary air and the freon is one system. The maintenance manual specifies different capacities for non rear auxiliary air or auxiliary air.
