So Cal Dealership Recommendations

Recommended Posts

I am in the market for a new 2500HD, CC, SLT, Duramax. I have contacted four local dealerships and all of them are adding about $1K to the "published" invoice amount for advertising costs from the manufacturer (GMC). The local Ford dealerships don't do this. This appears to be a "garbage fee" and I would prefer not paying it.

Does anyone know of a fleet dept at a dealership in Southern California that doesn't charge this fee? I would like to pay the true invoice plus $500. This is what I've been offered by Ford, but I would rather not get another Superduty. Been there, done that. If push comes to shove, I'll pay the $1K...I think the trucks are worth it.

I got my truck for $500 over invoice at Courtesy Chevrolet, Thousand Oaks, CA.  Where in So Cal are you?  I can hook you up with my sales man.

That was a quick response! Thank you.

Perhaps Chevy dealers don't add the $1K fee and it's just a GMC Truck thing?

Anyway, I am in south Orange County, so that might be a tad too far to travel. Thanks again for the quick response.

Call Jay at Selman Chevrolet in Orange. He's a regular on the Hotboat.net forums and seems to take care of his customers. I don't have his number, but the dealership in in the yellow pages.

I'll do that. Thanks!

Anyone have any GMC dealer's they recommend?

Talk to Warner Faulks at Camino Real Chevrolet (it's near LA). He'll sell you a truck for the price you're looking for.

If you talk to him, tell him that Greg (who bought a Tahoe from him) gave you his name (Greg's my brother-in-law).

I've talked to him a couple of times and he was always ready to give me a great, near invoice, price. I just haven't been ready to pull the trigger on a new 'Burban yet.
