Got my STS in the mail on Thursday. There were a few snags, but I am hoping to get everything dealt with by next weekend so I can install it. I took everything out of the box and mocked it up (I couldn't resist, plus it should make the install go faster). Eveyrthing seems likes it's going to fit really well. It's look some high quality stuff.

The directions leave a little to be desired but it's a new kit so they're not quite done with the final draft. The Y-pipe that came with the kit is to small for the exaughst so I am gonna call them on Monday to see if they can send me one that will fit. The only other real snag is that the STS kit hooks up to the PCV system. The 8.1 has an internal PCV, so they are gonna call me back on that one :troll: There's also a snag with the oil hookup....but still I am willing to be a test monkey for some extra horse power :troll:

After it's done and running, on my next trip to Raleigh I plan on stopping by a dyno, to see what she can put out.

wish me luck

Nice looking set-up. I like the fact that the turbo is far away from the engine compartment and everything runs cooler. The turbo stays cooler and so does the intake air. The STS Turbo or a Whipple Supercharger would be my 2 choices for sure.

I thought about that....they have some impressive video of a toyota on the beach going through the water with no ill effects.......plus I havn't measures yet....but with six inches of lift......the turbo underneath my truck is higher than any car turbo under the hood, so I'm not really worried about it. I mean it will sit well above my axle, and almost above my tires.....the only 4 wheeling I do is on the beach, and I NEVER go near the ocean with it becuase salt water is just plain BAD......so.......I'll just be careful.

any estimates on power gains yet?

Tbyrne has on his website an increase of 120 HP and 150 ftlbs with the T67, but I got a T76 because STS said it performed better. I'll be running it with a tune from Mr.Nelson. I am hoping to get it installed in the next week or two, there are a bug or two to work out with STS since this is one of the first 2 or 3 kits they've sold. So I am working with them to get those ironed out. If I get it installed in time, I have to goto Raleigh in June and I may go throw it on a dyno......can ya fit a CCLB truck on a dyno?
