Anyone not been able to fit 285/17s on truck?

Recommended Posts

Hello I was just curious if anyone on this forum has not been able to fit the 285/17s on there vehicle? I could not get much out of my torsion bar because my one side was almost all the way up as it was, so it's about factory height and I kept reading on here how everyone had no problem getting that size to work but then I was browsing some tire sites and one of them had a post on a 2003 Silverado and the guy said he could not get that size tire to work on his truck, it would of took major trimming he said and he had factory wheels and all that, so maybe he's in my position where he could not crank the torsion bars up? has anyone here installed that size without raising it at all? Thanks a lot.

Most people crank the T-Bars at least a little to get the tires to fit.

I have an 04 gmc sierra with 17 inch wheels and 285 bfg all terrains. I ve had the tires for about a year with no rubbing but im either going to get new keys or crank the torsions because the trucks looks stupid with the front sitting down some
