time to change oem shocks/springs

Recommended Posts

how do you know if you need to change. im hittin 100k on an 02 denali. i think i definetly need rear springs. back is sagging a whole lot.  how do i know if i need    the shocks too,. $350 each any test.

With that mileage you need shocks. Stand on the bumper and give a good push down as you jump off. The truck should rebound once and stop. If it bounces a few times, they're shot. I'd be suprised if you need springs unless you haul a lot of heavy stuff. Don't buy new shocks from the dealer, go Ebay or aftermarket.

You might have Autoride and if you do the only place to get those shocks are from the dealer. They sell for about $250.00 each. You may also have Autoride with the load leveling feature. Look for the code Z55 on the RPO sticker in the glove box. If you have that code then you have Autoride. :chevy:
