Funny Noise

Recommended Posts

Over the past couple weeks I have noticed an intermittent weird noise that seems to be coming from the front end of my truck. I can feel it in the floor and it only happens at around 40-50mph. It sounds like, budda, budda, budda, budda. Like driving on a washboard dirt road. Any ideas? It drives great, no alignment issues and no loose parts that I can find.

Just two suggestions to look for.

Loose shocks can cause a weird rattle. Aftermarkets are a bit looser and the shock bolts have to be super tight to stop it.

Pitman/Idler arm wear will cause a weird thump noise. Have someone turn the wheel to both sides all the way and if your centerlink moves up or down at all, they are worn. I could tap on my centerlink and hear it rattle before I replaced mine.
