Suncoast tranny going in soon!

Recommended Posts

As most of you know I usually modify everything I drive so Edge's Level 3 program is getting a little... um... boring  I've found myself pushing the button to level 4 so the stock tranny won't be to happy with this after awhile. It's time for an upgrade! A Suncoast Stage V transmission assembly will be heading this way in a few days along with a triple disc converter.

Now I just need to wait for some of the more aggressive tuning and other mods to make use of this. The LB7 guys are having all of the fun! It's time for that to be shared with the LLY!

Remember, torque is our friend!

Awesome! I do find it amazing on how much those diesels can push!

I don't know if you read much on thedieselplace, but they have some info over there that isn't discussed much on here. It seems like most of the diesel guys there go to the track a good bit, and they break/bend their tie rods quite easily. They do this by doing 4wd launches at around 3 psi or more. Us gas guys can do it easily too, but thats normally when off-roading or jumping curbs. There's a guy on there named SuperDiesel(SD) that fabricates tie rod sleeves out of aluminum to make sure they don't break. They run $125 plus shipping. Fabtech is also coming out with some heavy duty tie rod ends sometime this month that will be $225 or so plus shipping. The big dawg fix is to go to bulletproof steering and get a set of their tie rod bars. They look awesome, but are almost $500 for the pair.

SuperDiesel also makes some kind of injection kit for added horsepower, and makes a completely new centerlink that takes out a bunch of flex that causes toe in when pulling heavy loads. Just giving you a heads up incase you already don't know so that you can look into adding those parts too.

I just put on the fabtech upgraded pitman/idler/steering stabilizer and will be ordering some tie rod sleeves soon.
