Waxing usually takes about 2 hours. I typically wax every other month using #26. I have been reading a lot at www.autopia.org and the information there is unbelieveable. A few things I was doing wrong, but now I've changed

I now use a lambs wool mitt to wash

Waffle Weave microfiber towels to dry -- not soft bath towels

I am going to buy a porter cable buffer

Microfiber towels are your friend

You wouldn't believe the shine you can obtain from Menzerna FMJ. They have a car care kit that's just under $90 I think. You put it on iwth a buffer, and the FMJ sealer by hand. The depth is unbelieveable, durability is 100+ days (confirmed), and is much much cheaper than wax. Even though it's $90, you only use something like .5 oz per vehicle, so you can get a LOT of use out of a 32oz bottle.

For my engine:

I use purple stuff degreaser 100% out of the bottle....soak the motor. NO I don't cover any of the electronics or alternator up :wtf: The engine gets wet when it rains so NO you arent going to have a problem. I then drive it for about 30 min to dry the engine, and then spray armor-all detailers advantage tire foam on everything. It looks better than the day it rolled off the showroom floor.

Thanks guys! :nopity:
