Westers or not?

I have two HD's 01 regular cab 4wd 42000 miles and an 02 extended cab 4wd 58000 miles. Both have 6.0 and they are plow trucks, and tow regularly. Will Westers tuner hurt reliability in the long run? I would go with the the 87 tune and the firmer shifting trans sounds great.

Thanks

Wester's tunes are more efficient both in the engine tuning and the tranny shifting than the stock tune. Reliability should be better than stock if you drive the same. The low and mid range boosts will really make plowing and towing a pleasure compared to stock, and you should get a little gas mileage improvement too!

With that many trucks you should check out hptuners.com. You can tune all three for about $500.00. Some are afraid to do it themselfs but these new software programs are easy to use. You can tune anything (just like a nelson/wester/pcmforless) but don't have to use all the features. If you just want firmer shifts you can just do that. As you learn more you can tune more. With the new software the days of shipping your PCM to someone else are fading.

I have put a lot of miles on my truck with the Westers Tune in it and I could not be more happy with the tune. My truck has 92,000 miles on it and still runs great with the 93 octane hot tune. So as far as I am concerned the Westers Tune is reliable in every sense of the word... :withstupid:

It will be the best money spent on your truck.

Just my opinion.
