finally geting my lift next week

Recommended Posts

i am probably gonna go with a single shock. does having duel shocks make the ride smoother? for now, i can only afford one, but maybe later when i get more money ill spend some money on that. do they have to change out some other parts to install duel shocks? or is it just an add-on

nice looking truck by the way.

ok, i just dont know what to say. i call outlaw this morning before i get there and ask em if i can drop off my truck. they said no because they have to order all the parts. ok, i can understand.

as for the price, i called them about a week ago on a monday to get a price quote on my truck. 7"cst, 35 bf at's, 16"xa's, and 4.56 gears. he gave me 2800 WITHOUT the gear, including labor and all the parts so i ask him, "how about with gears" he said another 500 dollars on top of that. so cool, 3300, ill get it done for sure. so i get off the phone with him. the reason i called was becuase i sent an e-mail to them couple of days before and i didnt get a response so i decided to call. well they give me a call back after couple of days and leaves a voice mail saying its gonna be 3600 to do everything. so im like wtf, so i called back to variefy, and asked them which price do i get, 3300 or 3600, and he said, "the lower one buddy, just bring your truck in and ill hook you up". i got his name down and the price and decided to go on a monday, which is today. i called and asked them if they can do it for that price and they said that it was way too low and asked me who i spoke with. it ended up that i spoke with the owner. i spoke with him TWICE AND he gave me the exact quote TWICE. wtf. what am i supposed to do? i am thinking of calling and talking to the owner once again to see whats up. im pretty pissed... are there any other shops around so. california? :banghead:

Hey min, I feel your pain. I had something similir happen to me with them except for the fact I had already given Outlaw a $1000 deposit. They gave me a quote on paper...when I took my truck in, they 4got to add tax so it was like alil bit more but I was still pissed cuz when I got the quote the guy goes oh thats everything out the door...the day I take it in for the lift I asked to see what the balance was and come up with another price..I was mad but I was SOL because I had already given them a deposit which was no refundable. Other than that...they did do a good job on the lift and what not.

I know of other shops. Try:

X-Industry (714) 635-2370 ask for Ruben or Rudy located in Fullerton off the 91E and Raymond

Extreme Trucks in Aliso Viejo (949) 215-9757

Custom Motorsports http://www.custommotorsports.com/

12150 Severn Way, Riverside CA 92503 [951] 549-1740

Action Auto Sports In Mission Viejo only have the number to the Corona store but if you call them they can give you the Mission Viejo Tel # (951) 738-0577

Hope this helps you out a bit...astleast you know what you can get the lift for and know to to bargin with these other shops. Good Luck

PS. I know Ruben from X-Industry and the only reason I did not got with them again is cuz I had already given Outlaw my deposit and could not get it back.

  • 4 weeks later...

i finally got it done at outlaw... well on my way back home today, 3 lights came on my dashboard, abs, service break system and parking break. i call them and see whats up and they said its becuase i switched out the gears. he said it does it on some cars. is this true? i dont feel like spending 300 bucks on a programmer... i dont get it becuase i would think that they have to take care of it but telling me to buy a programmer doesnt seem right. any other ways to do it? and will the programmer make the light go away? thanks.
