Will Gm bring back the K-5 Blazer.

Recommended Posts

I read Four Wheeler and Truck Trends and in both I have seen a Chevy K-5 Prototype. Has 2 regular doors and from the pics it looks like smaller access doors for the back seat. It also had a removable top and a 6.0. We can only hope that the General will build this.

I loved my old '79 K5, rust and all.  I'd consider another with a removeable top.  It was as much fun to go wheeling as my Jeep, but having a hard top over the cab was great when the weather turned.  Unfortunately, it'll probably start at ?k!!

I've been seeing photos here and there, but they do it no justice.  In person, that thing is awesome.  I saw it 2 weeks ago at the Carlisle All-GM show.  No, you weren't seeing things -- it did have the rear quarter doors like on the ex-cabs.

I have a pic of it here:

If they're going to give it an optional 6.0, they'd better do the same for the Avalanche...

Just saw a pic of one in the picture post forum.  Never mind.  Full size ain't what it used to be.....

The K5 is a great idea, but I just want the hinges for the rear doors put on current production extended cabs.  The hinges open a full 180 degrees so that the door swings out of the way.  If GM is smart they will start offering these on the 4 door extended cabs as soon as possible.

Chuggernaut -- how was Carlisle?  I had planned on going (it's only about 40 minutes from me) but couldn't make it.  I sure wanted to see the concepts and talk to John Moss.  How was the Anniversary Edition Camaro?

Carlisle rocked!!  As you can see by the photos on my site, it was mostly F-Bodies, but there was a decent mix.  Considering that this was the first year for the All-GM show, it had a pretty good turnout (maybe 500-600 participants).  I got pics of about every third car or so.

I was able to see the concepts, but it was tricky getting photos of them all because of the crowds around them. Unfortunately, that was the case for the Anniv. Camaro.  Personally, I didn't see what all the hype was for - I mean it was cool, but not groundbreaking.  I wish they would've had the Grand Prix G8 concept as well.

I'm planning on at least attending again next year.  Hopefully I'll have something worth showing off by then, but if not, there's talk that GMforums will have a tent set up, so I'll be stopping by there to say hi to everyone.
