Finally got my PCM tune

Recommended Posts

Bryan @ pcm4less is the man. He spent plenty of time explaining my options and finally deciding on what would be best for me.

He changed the tire size, shift points, timing, rev limits, torque mgmt, and top speed limiter.

I can honestly say this truck is a beast compared to what it was.

Before, from a dead stand still it wouldn't think of turning over the 265's that were on it, much less the 315's i changed to.

Now, it will burn the 315's down from a stand still with no power braking or anything.

I can tell at all rpm ranges a huge difference in repsonse and power. Bryan timed it for 93 octane, and said that I could expect a 30-40 rwhp gain in doing so....I believe it.

I took a road trip on it this weekend and did some flat out hwy driving. Some kid on one of those rice burner civic R with exhaust wanted to run. I'm guessing he was assuming this big ole' truck wouldn't get out of its own way when he ran up on me. WRONG. I let him by...he gets on it ( you could hear his little fart can tailpipe screaming), then i run up on him. Buried my speedo at 120 and still had lots of peddle left. His car had to be redlined, and all i could see was a look of "what the fook?" in his rear view mirror as i was running up on his bumper.

Classic.....felt like a kid again.

Anyways....no way i'll drive the truck like that often. I just don't see how it can keep those big arse tires rolling like that without something coming apart. LOL

Thought you guys would enjoy my story, and I wanted to give a big :wtf: to Bryan at pcm4less.com. Definitely give him a call if you want to wake up your 6.0L HD.

Good story. Lots of chat on her about these tunes. I'm thinking about doing this to my 8.1 and wondering what recent experiences folks have had with this on that motor. Interested in hearing about performance gains, gas mileage impact and also wondering what happens when you have a tune and you supercharge it? Presumably, supercharging requires a fair amount of re-tuning?

Thanks in advance for any info along these lines.
