HARD 1ST TO 2 ND SHIFT

Hello to all!....Maybe I will have better luck on this specific forum, have not had not one reply on the other side forum of medium to compact Sypnosis, I have a nice 97 s10 blazer I just got about a month ago with 72K miles. tranny shifts out fine in city driving , however when I get off the highway I will get a stiff 1st to 2nd shift. If I happen to stop somewhere and turn off vehicle and restart everything will be back to normal again. Now, I read in another forum someone else with a similar problems and the techs there suggested a bad ""transmission control solenoid pack" , does this sound correct? someone else posted they had it fixed for about 109.00 , does that sound about right? and finally, can a mechanically inclined person like myself tackle this job or is it better left to the tranny shop? your input would be greatly appreciated...Rob
