Recommended Posts

1999 Chevy K3500, 5.7, Auto, 105,000 Miles - Service Light ON - Pulled code - P1345 - Crank and Cam shaft position sensor corralation - Anyone have any thoughts? - Anyone else have to deal with this code? - Thanks

Either your distributor to crankshaft relationship moved enough to set the code while the engine was running or the distributor is in need of readjustment from plain old wear. You can't set it with a timing light, it takes a scanner. You would need to monitor Cam Sensor Retard above 2000 RPM and get it within three degrees of zero, with zero being optimal.

Hopefully you just need to readjust it to bring it withing specs. If it skipped a tooth or the timing chain is worn you have larger problems.
