Supercharger advice

Recommended Posts

I am getting a blower for my '05 Denali. I am undecided which one to go with. I am thinking of a Screw type a la Kenne Bell, or Whipple. Maybe Roots like Eaton (Magnusson) or simialar. Daily driving only, no racing.

Any ideas someone? Which one will simplify install??

Thanks in advance,

Anders

i have the magnacharger radix, would highly recomend it, it is a complete kit and comes with everything you need for install, except hand tools, replaces stock intake manifold, very good installation instructions, excellent performance, has power from a stop right to red line, has no lag like most s/c or turbo's, magnicharger uses an eaton supercharger assembly, eaton makes alot of the oem superchargers so you know it is well built, they also offer a drivetrain warrenty if installed by ase certifide technition.

you can make a post in forum link below if you want more info, alot of the guys on the site have them, there are also a few with wipples and at least one with the k b, so you can get their opinions on them, get hold of BLOWNCHEVY if you want a radix he can answer any questions you have and maybe a good deal on one.

this is the second s/c i put on my truck, the first was a powerdyne and it sucked, couldn't get belt to stop squelling at high rpm, had no boost intill 2k rpm, the kit was cheesy and nothing fit right, the directions sucked, and it locked up on the highway in vermont 15k miles later. and wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy

the magnacharger kit was great, everything fit and the directions where clear, the performance increase was alot better than the other one, i have 35" tires and can spin them from a stop and the truck pully hard all the way through the rpm's, this truck is my daily driver and runs great, the s/c makes a little noise when you get on it but it is not that loud, and i would highly reccommend it to anyone thinking about a s/c for their truck.

i'll check back later to or see ya on ls1

i have a kenne bell on my 03 4.8 and i love it. makes lots of power and looks really cool too--i got a polished one.

I am leaning towardsKenne Bell, but hesitating due to their customer service reputaton. Did you install yourself???

Anyone in SE Michigan recommended to do an install, if I decide not to do it myself?

Thanks,

Anders

their customer service is not as bad as you have heard. i know the guys there and a couple of them can be jerks, but for the most part they are ok. yes, i installed it myself--the kit is awesome and the instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. if you do decide to go with kenne bell, let me know. maybe i can save you some $$$. maybe not, but it is worth a try........ :chevy:
