1996 vortec 454

i just rebuilt the topend of my 454 and now as i start the truck the engine revs till no tomorrow and sits about 3000 rpm and the throttle body isnt even open. the only code im picking up on my obd 2 scanner is the maf returning weak signal. is there any way i can get the computer to reset and relearn idle or am i going to have to tow it to the dealer and have them pop the hood?

teardown was to fix/replace 4 bent valves

any suggestions greatly appreciated

Air is getting in the intake somehow, you say it's not going by throttle valve and the computer says it isn't going by the MAF, so you're looking for a hole. A disconnected line is most likely, a slipped gasket is possible.

yea i found the problem. it was the little plastic piece thats on the gasket i must have bumped it as i was putting on the manifold.
